Produce missing persons before Eid

Lahore4 June 2019. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has said: ‘We must not forget the plight of the families of missing persons. While acknowledging that the release of Mr Khadim Hussain Arijo and Mr Hidayat Lohar in Sindh is a step in the right direction, HRCP has urged that all missing persons must be produced before Eid-ul-Fitr and all those detained for political reasons, freed.

‘It is imperative for the authorities and security agencies to understand that disregard for the basic human rights of its citizens weaken the very foundations of the state and fragment society beyond repair. HRCP reiterates its demand of putting an immediate end to any unlawful detentions and forced disappearances.’
