Lahore Dec 9: HRCP has called upon Dr. Abdul Malik, Chief Minister of Balochistan, to immediately take appropriate measures for the recovery of human rights activists and other citizens abducted by the law enforcement agencies and order proper investigations into killing of citizens by law enforcing agencies.
HRCP is deeply concerned at the increase in the number of abductions and killings in Balochistan in recent days, says a press release issued today. HRCP has renewed its call for the recovery of Advocate Haider Ali, who had been abducted in Turbat on 27 November, and referred to the CM new cases of arrest-abduction and the killing of six persons last week. The following new cases have been reported to the HRCP 1. Mr. Nadir, Advocate S/O Abdul Nabi, R/O Bolan Medical College, Labour Colony, Quetta.
He was arrested allegedly by personnel from Frontier Corps (FC) along with plainclothesmen from his house in the presence of his wife and rest of the family members on December 4, 2013 at midnight. He used to appear in courts on behalf of missing persons pro bono. It is apprehended that he may be physically harmed in custody. 2. Master Mehrab Baloch, R/O Kalatuk Village, Kech district, Balochistan arrested recently. 3. Mr. Riazat Bugti S/O Bagul Baloch, activist of Baloch Republic Party arrested a few days back. 4. Mr. Kosagh Bugti S/O Warna Khan, Dera reportedly killed in military operation in Dera Bugti, Balochistan on December 05, 2013. 5. Mr. Masso Bugti Bakho Khan, reportedly killed in military operation in Dera Bugti in Dera Bugti, Balochistan on December 05, 2013. 6. Mr. Ali Dost Baloch and his two sons and a grand son, reportedly killed in military operation in Dera Bugti, Balochistan on December 05, 2013. 7. Mr. Rehmat Ullah and two others arrested from his house at Dinga Village allegedly by FC on December 6, 2013. HRCP calls upon the Balochistan Chief Minister to make sure that the human rights activists are not physically harmed in custody and to do his bit for getting the killing of Baloch people stopped.
