How we are run<\/h3>\n

As a democratic membership-based organisation, HRCP\u2019s highest organ is its general body, which comprises over 5,000 members across Pakistan. The general body meets at least once a year, giving members from all over the country the chance to learn more about the human rights situation in other provinces and discuss HRCP\u2019s progress and activities. Members also attend monthly meetings at their local HRCP office to discuss current human rights concerns.<\/p>\n

The executive authority of the organisation is vested in the Council<\/a><\/span>, which is elected every three years. All members in good standing are eligible to vote. Council members provide strategic oversight, monitor the human rights situation in their respective province or territory, and collectively determine the organisation\u2019s priorities. The Council also elects a chairperson, co-chair, treasurer and four vice-chairs for Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh. HRCP office bearers cannot hold office in the government or any political party at the national or provincial level.<\/p>\n

The secretary-general represents HRCP\u2019s secretariat. The organisation\u2019s day-to-day operations are overseen by the director.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
